Battery life, keyboard quality and repairability decide these, not benchmark scores.
Aim for 16GB of memory and a matte screen; skip the discrete graphics.

We ran a looped lecture-and-browser workload at 150 nits and timed each machine to shutdown, then repeated the test after 30 charge cycles.
Memory was the clearest dividing line. Machines with 8GB soldered memory slowed noticeably once a browser, a PDF reader and a video call were open together.
Student discounts and cashback portals move these prices a lot, so check current offers before committing to a model.
